Clones

Pinot by the clone — which cuts we plant, and why.

Not all pinot is one pinot

Pinot Noir is a family of clones, each with its own flavor signature. We grow eleven of them and blend by the row, not by the tank.

The lineup

667 dark fruit, structure, backbone
115 red cherry, floral, finesse
777 spice, grip, for the long wines
pommard earthy, tannic, old-school

Why we bother

A single clone is a single note. Eleven clones is a chord. The blend happens in the vineyard, before a grape is ever picked.
