Pruning

The winter work that decides the whole year.

The whole year, decided in winter

Pruning is the quiet, freezing work that sets the crop. Cut too much and you starve the vine; too little and you get a weak, crowded canopy.

Our approach

method cane pruning, two-bud spurs
timing January through March
crew the same six hands every year
yield 1.8 tons per acre, deliberately low

Why low yield matters

Less fruit, more concentration. A vine that makes two clusters makes two good clusters. That's the whole trade.
